First Maskwa Ski Trip - Revisited

I will have to reaffirm Scott's previous post, it was a most excellent time in Utah. I would have to say, it was the first time I was sad to leave winter. However, as Scott and Nicole were so kind to point out I really didn't leave winter. I just left the vertical winter for the flat winter. I wonder which would be easier... to fill the Great Salt Lake with enough water to make it as large as Lake Michigan or to push up the bedrock high enough to make mountains in Illinois.

Anyways, I'm surprised, being this is the Maskwa blog, that Scott left out this picture...

Well that's all the news that's fit to print. Until next time.

First Maskwa Ski Trip!!

Hi Gang!!

Well, for those of you who missed it, the first Maskwa Ski Trip was a great time for all! Good friends, good times... sounds like normal Maskwa life!

Sara, Katie, and Young David made it in early Friday morning, Splash that afternoon, and Nicole and I that evening. Nicole, Splash and I spent Saturday at Park City Mountain, while Valentine and John took the early arrival gang to Solitude for some Cottonwood Canyon skiing, as they had skied PC Mountain on Friday (free lift ticket the day you fly in... SWEET.) After skiing, we picked up Olga and Rohit from their late inbound flight, and the group was complete.

We all made the crazy drive up to Snowbasin (site of the 200 Olympic downhill runs,) and everyone had a fantastic time. It is a great hill, and even on a weekend, there were almost NO lift lines. Mostly due to-- they have NO PLACE to stay there... pretty much, at least. It is a commuter resort. Excellent snow, great skiing/riding, and good company....

Monday saw us at The Canyons, a sprawling resort in Park City. Billed as the largest ski resort in Utah, it really lives up to it's name. The Early Arrivals went straight to the top when they got there, to the peak known as "Ninety-Nine 90," and proceeded to 'slay dragons' with their boards. It was very intense skiing at the top... mostly double black diamonds, off piste, and out of bounds. I will post the serious good picture from Young David when he emails it to me....

Monday night we had the big Hot Tub party at our resort in Park City. We drank wine from a plastic pitcher, and almost had a hot body throw down, this time between Val and Young David, with Sara and Katie as judges.... then we went up, enjoyed the fire, and got ready for Tuesday....

Splash had to leave early on Tuesday (2 PM or so..) so he took the bus from PC. Olga and Rohit decided to stay on in PC, as they were not leaving till the next day, and Nicoel and I went to "Black Diamond Heaven," Snowbird, and skied till 1:00, and then met the Early Gang at Val's, then we were all met up again at the airport.....

All in all,... a fantastic time..... Here come the pics.....
